"3:25 AM Friday? Yikes! Sounds like you'll have to catch up with some Z's on the train. Good luck with that."
2016 I actually made it from catching an LIRR train leaving my local station at 2322 Thursday to finishing something in the last panel slot Friday without sleep, though ending up very tired. 2017 I tried to do the same but ended up having to take a nap Friday (and missed a bit, though fortunately nothing I was really looking forward to). This year I might try to sleep on the train a bit, yeah.
And I may not be able to get a hotel room right away, since I'll be arriving well before the standard check-in time; they have a luggage check, at least, so I won't have to carry it everywhere. Also doesn't give me much of a chance to see much else in Baltimore.
It's fast, it's cheap, but those are the two out of three I picked.
Still better than not getting to attend at all, though!
"But wait: You're from Suffolk County? Yay, another Downstate brony (albeit one living FAR from the city)!"
Indeed! Though I'm actually not sure I've heard "Downstate" before it came up in this thread.
(I've only been living here for about two and a half years and moved from out of state.)
"Where in Suffolk do you live?"
Port Jefferson Station, conveniently within walking distance of the LIRR station giving it its name. Both years I've been able to get to and from Bronycon entirely with a combination of foot travel and steel-on-steel (though I nearly didn't last year, as part of the Baltimore light rail was out of service for work and only just started up again in time for me to use it on my way in).
"Myself, I'm from NYC: Queens, to be exact."
There was someone on the forum last year from Nassau, though I don't remember where in Nassau. Ah, "Stardust", their name was, though it looks like they've not been on since October of last year.
