East coast Ponycons?

I hope that someone does start something here on the east coast. Closest con to me will now be TrotCon, which I more likely will be going to next year as long as the dates work out.

As for staring one of you own, i was so depressed after the new that when I got home I actually started to look at the sizes of spaced in my city to see if one could be held here.

Yeah me too there are a lot in my area that would be good for it
For instance fwa was held at Marriott Marquis Atlanta and held a little over 5000 attendees(furry weekend Atlanta ), also good Momocon without any issues. Lots of hotels around the area to there is also The Cobb Galleria which held over 30000 last year for Anime Weekend Atlanta

I just looked at the momocon site and their number were over 33000 but if you look at the picture down towards the bottom is a fluttershy and spike cosplay As their about picture

Our original plan was to skip 2019 bronycon and save for Japan.... but then 2019 is the last so Japan is after bronycon now.... but after that? Hope all the suggestions are still there in 2020 and on. That momocon looks promising. If it's still good in 2020, might be a contender... it's no bronycon, but nothing else ever will be.

Trotcon would be the nearest as everyone else says, though I wish the venue was served by public transit. None of the busses go to that hotel. Hope another pony con comes to the east coast.

trotcon is just not possible for a lot of people. thats an eight hour drive for a lot of people on the east coast. losing bronycon is losing the easiest abd most convenient con for east coast bronies and unless youve got the cash to go to babs or ciderfest, most of us are staying home i guess

I would have to say with the amount of people in the community here on the east coast, If we don`t start hearing of some sort of convention popping up to fill in that huge gaping hole that BronyCon left, i will be utterly surprised.

Maybe if enough of us get together we can get something going ourselves.

Perhaps we should continue the conversation on Josh_Turner's thread, since it seems that some of the same people are on these two threads. It would be a shame for a good idea to be missed because it was on the wrong thread.

I may suggest that someone sets up a Discord server so that ideas can be talked about more freely that through these forums.

I just checked Fillycon's twitter and facebook page, and their twitter is inactive, and their website is down

They are looking for supporters for 2020, but who know if that would work

Trotcon takes place in Columbus Ohio every year and is already established and a good size. If all the bronycon bronies would go there when bronycon closes it could be HUGE!

Columbus, Ohio! Dear God the last time we drove there we payed 40 dollars in tolls on the PA turnpike. Columbus is a very nice place though.
