Yes it’s easier and there’s less liability if you just limit it to drinking age. But I have been to several other cons now and seen most of them offer after dark 18+ panels that don’t serve alcohol so it’s not logistically impossible or impractical, and I’m still unclear on why BC doesn’t just set some after dark panels in the normal panel rooms for after like 11 PM. It’s been kind of a sore point for me in the past to be honest. As to keeping it away from the younger attendees, it’s literally in the middle of the connecting passageway between the Hilton and the Convention Center. So literally anyone who walks across the sky bridge will see it, it’s not exactly hidden or hard to find so that’s not really a valid explanation from what I can tell.
