Yeah, I have a suggestion:
Please treat the community guests like VIPs.
Many people go to BronyCon to see community guests. For many of us, they're more important than some of the VIPs who are directly related to the show. On top of this, a large number of the most popular and attended panels are entirely community guest run. Whooves Line and Bronies React are some of the examples from this year.
Examples of people who should be considered VIPs: DustKat, ACRacebest, Saberspark, Nowacking, LittleshyFIM, Dr Wolf, Antony C, Silver Quill.
I spent half the weekend trying to find any of these people to get autographs. They were mobbed at panels and outside panels. They bring in people to the convention. Why are these people not getting free hotel rooms, access to the Green Room, handlers, and promotion in the bulletin and online?
One person on staff (who I understand may not speak for the con) has indicated they do not treat community guests as VIPs in order not to "hurt anyone's feelings". This is a crappy excuse. Other conventions treat community guests of a particular stature as VIPs and provide benefits. People are adults, and if they get their feelings hurt, they can deal with it. BC deserves to do better to the people to contribute so much to the community.
